Our wedding will have a vintage feel...I guess you could call it a "theme," but I hate that word. I do not have a specific era in mind. I just plan to incorporate several elements that translate vintage throughout our wedding so that it feels a bit old, classic and romantic.
The image I fell in love with!
So, I love what this image translates and what it portrays. It depicts a fabulously festive, Art Deco, classy, colorful and fun event. More importantly for me, this is the image that I pulled our color scheme from. I am not really sticking to a specific color scheme. Rather, I want to focus on a few colors...incorporate different shades of that color in order to achieve the effect that I want. The decor will focus around shades of purple, green and peach...but no specific shade of either tones.
Purple Inspiration Board
I love this inspiration board from Snippet and Ink
Green Inspiration Board
Art Deco Inspiration
This inspiration board TOTALLY expresses the feel and the type of vintage I am trying to accomplish. I want this to translate via the invitations, programs, decor, dress, table settings, etc...
Colors that I love
Let There Be Light...
I totally want our reception space to stand out with some additional lighting. I originally thought it would be cool to find chandeliers and class the joint up a bit...however I soon realized that "class" has a very high price tag.
I also had an aversion to paper lanterns because I thought they were played out and not in accordance with our vintage theme. After doing an image search however, I was convinced otherwise. The lighting is very romantic and, in the right color or print, very 1940s. In the middle of the night I emailed our florist some of these images. This would be perfect!
Ceremony Decor
Here are some images of what I see for the ceremony. I want to keep it simple because the large window should be the focal point. However, I do want something to line the inside of the aisle. I thought about chair sashes or kissing balls, however I am leaning towards having several large pillar candles or lanterns lining the aisle.
Tablescape ideas
This picture is from a wedding that took place at our reception venue. I love the color of the linens, but I am leaning towards having a lighter color...but this is an option...However, I definitely want these chairs!
Love the linens here, but would change the centerpieces and the chairs. I abhor white chairs...no matter how nice they are.
Table Setting
The colors here are not what I want, however this is the table set up I am looking for. We are having a buffet, so I want the napkins, menu insert, table number and centerpeice. Not too much stuff on the table, but just enough to make it pretty and interesting. I will probably only have one glass, for water, on the tables to eliminate clutter.
